Jan 17,  · Ask any Stevie Nicks fan what her best solo album is, and it's generally going to come down between 'Bella Donna' and 'The Wild Heart'. There isn't much to say about the songs themselves that hasn't already been said, so my review is here to address the sound quality of the remasters. These two albums have never sounded better/5().

Stevie Nicks' debut album is a dual-edged sword wielded by one of the most singular figures in rock and commanding voices in music history. Italian for “beautiful woman,” belladonna is also a plant, and a deadly one at that.

Aug 04,  · Stevie Nicks – Bella Donna (). From the sound of radio throughout my first two quarters at Ball State, Stevie Nicks was the biggest artist on the planet. If I had just a nickel every time “Edge of Seventeen” was played, I’d have been a millionaire and quit school.

Jan 16,  · Nice and good-sounding reissue of the best Stevie Nicks Album in my opinion. There’s some scatteted static noise with little effect on the listening. The gold vinyl looks really cool. All in all a good addition to my vinyl collection. I wonder how it would compare to the VMP blue vinyl reissue.

BELLA DONNA is Stevie's first solo album, and it established her as a dominant performer at the outset of the s, a time when rock 'n' roll was not always kind to women. It also cemented Stevie's stage image (first established by the song Rhiannon) as a gothic gypsy tinged with magic.

With the masterful aid of producer Jimmy Iovine, Stevie Nicks emerges as a tougher, more emotionally direct singer than in her work with Fleetwood Mac. Even though Bella Donna is awash with impenetrable poeticizing, Nicks' musical approach has shifted from folk music toward rock & roll, and this hardier balance – along with the star's hot.
